We give you the real facts

Not FACTS Management marketing. Not “Technology with Heart” from a Nelnet business line. A school system built by a school — priced at a fraction of the big platforms, true costs on the table, income toward teacher pay, tuition support, and LCA.

“Technology with Heart. Powered by Data.”

That’s the line on the FACTS homepage. Real screenshot. Real pitch. Connect admissions, academics, finance, and family engagement in one intelligent system. Turn your school’s data into outcomes. Contact Sales. Watch demos.

Read it like a teacher, not a buyer: your school’s data is the product story. Their growth story is scale — more schools, more families, more hubs. That is not a ministry. That is a platform company.

  • Four Intelligence Hubs + FACTS IQ as “the brain”
  • SIS, admissions, finance, engagement — one rented OS
  • Diocese of Fresno (21 schools) is the multi-campus dream client
  • Pricing: Contact Sales. No public school price list.

FACTS IQ — marketed as the brain behind school operations. You don’t own that brain.

Their “brain”

FACTS IQ connects every hub. You rent the nervous system.

On their site, FACTS IQ is the core intelligence layer that connects SIS, academic management, analytics, and integrations so data “flows securely” across admissions, finance, family engagement, and success.

Translation for a school that still has to teach on Monday: every custom teacher workflow, every parent story, every principal view that isn’t already on their roadmap becomes a feature request inside someone else’s brain. When you leave, the nervous system stays with them.

Admissions Intelligence · Engagement Intelligence · Financial Intelligence · Success Intelligence — four rented hubs, one permanent tenant relationship.

Who actually owns FACTS

15K+ schools. 2M+ families. A Nelnet business.

Their trust strip is not subtle: 40+ years, 15K+ schools, 2M+ families — and a giant Contact Sales button. Nelnet’s own site lists FACTS as a business that elevates K-12 for administrators, teachers, and families. That is investor infrastructure, not a school ministry.

Scale is the proof point. Contact Sales is the business model.

When a platform claims millions of families, your kids’ records are not a private chalkboard. They are inventory in a connected ecosystem designed to expand seats, modules, and multi-campus deals. Dioceses with 21 schools are the showcase. Your single campus is a line item.

Chris’s work is the opposite: empower a school system built by a school — not algorithms and pooled campus data used to sell more schools more suite.

They charge the school — and the family

Family App: another subscription on top of the suite

The FACTS Family App listing is public. Attendance, grades, homework, announcements — and an annual subscription fee of $4.99 for the whole family. That is on top of whatever the school already pays for the “unified intelligence platform.”

School pays enterprise SaaS. Parents pay the app tax. Vendor wins twice. And school pricing still hides behind Contact Sales — while parent pricing is clear enough to put on the App Store.

Beacon’s answer: charge schools at a fraction of other systems, show true costs, and direct income toward teacher pay, tuition support, and supporting LCA — not into an investor stack that monetizes both sides of the hallway.

The real facts

This isn’t a cheaper Nelnet

FACTS is competent. Long history. Real payments and enrollment tools. Thousands of schools. That is exactly why they are the competitor — not a vague “enterprise suite.” They sell four Intelligence Hubs, a Family App with a family subscription, and Contact Sales pricing under a public-company parent.

Beacon is a school system built by a school: tools teachers open on Monday, parents can use at dinner, principals can read without a training webinar — without turning student life into shared fuel for the next multi-campus deal.

Do we want algorithms and shared data designed to grow a software company for investors — or a system built by a school, priced at a fraction of the big platforms, with true costs shown and income that funds teacher pay, tuition support, and LCA?

These are the real facts. We show the costs. We charge a fraction. Income generated goes toward teacher pay, tuition support, and supporting LCA — not Wall Street.
